The Best Yoga Mat Bags and Carriers
Updated How we research
A mat bag matters most on moving days: to class, to the park, to a friend's place. Rolled mats are awkward to carry bare, and straps or bags solve that in very different ways. Simple slings weigh almost nothing but hold only the mat, while zippered tubes and totes add pockets for a towel, blocks, keys, and a water bottle. Size compatibility with thicker mats is the detail most people miss. We weighed capacity, whether each bag fits wide and thick mats, strap comfort, fabric durability, and ventilation for sweaty gear. Minimalist slings suit people who walk or bike to class with just a mat, full-zip bags work for anyone carrying props and a change of clothes, and structured totes fit practitioners who treat the bag as an everyday carryall. Measure your rolled mat before buying and the rest comes down to preference.
